September 11, 2026 – PRESSADVANTAGE –
The wellness studio on West Pender Street has added sound therapy capacity as practitioners report sustained interest from Vancouver clients seeking energy-based and complementary wellness modalities.
The Qi Station, a wellness studio located at 119 West Pender Street in downtown Vancouver, has expanded its sound therapy offerings. The studio now provides sound healing sessions alongside acupuncture, reiki, microneedling, moxibustion, fire cupping, herbal consultations, craniosacral therapy, and Brazilian lymphatic body work.
Kasia, a sound healer and Level 3 Reiki practitioner at The Qi Station, offers vibrational therapy sessions that use singing bowls and tuning forks. Practitioners describe sound therapy as a modality intended to promote relaxation through auditory stimulation and note that it is not positioned as a treatment for specific medical conditions. Kasia is one of several practitioners at the studio, joining Delphine Baumer and Trace-Ace Borgnetta, both registered acupuncturists, as well as Natalia, who offers craniosacral therapy and herbal consultations, and Heidy, who provides Brazilian lymphatic body work with Celluma red light therapy.
The multi-practitioner model allows clients to access a variety of wellness disciplines at a single location. Clients can schedule acupuncture, reiki, or sound therapy sessions with practitioners who work in the same studio space. The Qi Station’s service list includes treatments drawn from traditional Chinese medicine, including acupuncture, moxibustion, and fire cupping, alongside energy-based modalities such as reiki and sound healing.
Reiki, which originated in Japan in the early twentieth century, is offered at the studio as a complementary wellness practice. Practitioners describe the technique as involving light touch or hand positions near the body with the aim of supporting relaxation. The studio provides reiki sessions for clients who report stress, sleep difficulties, or an interest in energy-based approaches to well-being. Practitioners note that individual experiences vary and that reiki is not presented as a substitute for medical treatment.
The Qi Station also operates a Karma Care program, which provides reduced-rate sessions for individuals experiencing financial hardship or health challenges. The program is funded through voluntary community contributions, and donations are directed toward treatment costs for qualifying clients. Karma Care covers acupuncture, reiki, and sound therapy sessions.
Broader interest in complementary wellness modalities has been documented in recent market research. The Global Wellness Institute, a nonprofit research organization based in Miami, estimated in its November 2024 report that the global wellness economy reached approximately 6.3 trillion dollars, identifying mental wellness and traditional and complementary medicine among the sectors that have grown since the institute’s previous survey in 2021. In Canada, surveys conducted by the Canadian Complementary Medicine Association between 2020 and 2025 have recorded increased awareness of energy-based practices, with the association noting year-over-year variation in methodology and sample composition.
Industry observers have pointed to several factors relevant to the adoption of complementary wellness practices. Increased public discussion of chronic stress, broader availability of information about alternative modalities through digital channels, and a growing consumer willingness to explore approaches outside conventional medical care have been cited in recent market reports. Vancouver’s wellness sector includes a concentration of integrative health studios in the downtown core.
For practitioners, the multi-practitioner setting offers practical advantages. Shared clinical space reduces individual overhead costs, and the proximity of practitioners with different specialties facilitates client referrals within the same location. A client who visits for acupuncture may learn about sound therapy or reiki from other practitioners in the studio.
The Qi Station serves the downtown Vancouver community with a focus on customized wellness plans. Practitioners coordinate to ensure modalities are selected based on each client’s stated preferences and health goals. The studio serves clients ranging from those new to energy-based wellness to those who have maintained long-term relationships with specific practitioners.
